Starting Wage:   $36.51/hr. 
Additional $2.00/Hour PM & NOC Shift Differential and  $3.00/Hour Weekend Differential
$6,000 Sign On Bonus for Full-Time RN’s (Prorated for Part-Time based on Full Time Equivalency (F.T.E.)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 
– Provides leadership in attracting, retaining and developing an engaged workforce in the delivery of superior services to residents and families.
– Directs the work of and manages the assigned nursing staff.  Provides training, instructions, and ongoing training needs. Assigns tasks, reviews work, and prepares performance evaluations.    Provides staff coaching/counseling. 
– Audits nursing staff; ensures procedures are followed; provides follow-up and education as needed.
– Directs resident care and supervision of staff providing direct care, including passing medications, providing treatments, assessing residents, collaborating with outside healthcare providers and interdisciplinary team; advising/instructing Nurses, Aides, dietary workers, and Household Information Assistants regarding resident care.
– Reviews charting daily – surveilling for potential infectious processes; ensures appropriate measures/precautions are taken to prevent spread of infections; logs infections.
– Provides family, resident, and/or guardians with updates, changes, in condition and instruction or education.
– Accompanies physicians on rounds and assists with examinations and treatments; reviews patients care plan; transcribes new orders; informs residents and physicians regarding laboratory results, current conditions, etc.
– Plans and assists with discharge instructions and follow-up appointments, therapy instructions, etc.
– Assists with staffing various units; makes needed adjustments; answers phone calls and directs as needed.
– Maintains contact with the pharmacy; maintains narcotics records.
– Supervises resident appointment and transportation scheduling to other facilities, clinics, hospitals, etc.
– Performs Staff Nurse duties.
– Monitors incident reports, investigations, safety programs, etc.
– Monitors infection control; initiates appropriate actions and submits reports as appropriate.
– Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED JOB COMPETENCIES 
– Knowledge of the principles, standards, practices, and techniques of Skilled nursing.
– Knowledge of the dangers inherent in and the precautions to be taken in the use of drugs and other medication.
– Knowledge of local and state rules, regulations, procedures and policies pertaining to nursing services.
– Ability to assign and supervise the work of professional and nonprofessional personnel and to instruct them in practices and techniques.
– Ability to accurately maintain patient medical records and prepare reports.
– Knowledge of electronic records systems.
– Knowledge of PPE and its proper use for personal safety measures.
– Ability to maintain confidentiality of all resident care information and assure resident rights and privacy are protected at all times per HIPAA.
– Knowledge of chemicals used in housekeeping and laundry services including hazardous laundry chemicals and isolation procedures.
– Ability to create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth and personal interest as well as a clean environment.
– Ability to work tactfully and cooperatively with residents, families, visitors, and entire staff throughout the organization.
– Ability to verbally communicate with residents, families, the public, and other members of the organization.
– Must be able to exhibit a warm, cheerful, caring manner.
– Must be able to safely perform the essential job functions.
– Knowledge of management and supervisory practices & principles, including the ability to prepare performance evaluations.
– Ability to adapt and take control of situations, dictating subordinate activities in a responsible manner.
– Ability to instruct and train in methods and procedures.
– Ability to organize, assign, and modify the work assignment of others, and (re)-establish priorities to meet deadlines.
– Ability to interpret and implement local policies and procedures; written instructions, general correspondence; Federal, State, and local regulations.

PHYSICAL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT 
– This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 75 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, frequently requires standing, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions and occasionally requires walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling and reaching with hands and arms.
– Work has standard vision requirements.
– Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
– Hearing is required to perceive information in moderately loud conditions.
– Work frequently requires exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment and occasionally requires exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
– May work in any area of the facility.
– May be subject to exposure to infectious wastes, diseases, and medical conditions.
– Work is primarily in a health care setting where specialized resident programs are implemented.
– Work environment includes exposure to infectious agents, chemical agents, and resident behaviors.
